धेनुकासुर नामक एक गधे रूपी राक्षस का वध बलराम जी की सबसे प्रसिद्ध लीलाओं में से एक है। वृंदावन में तालवन नामक वन था जहाँ मीठे फल लगते थे, लेकिन वहां धेनुकासुर और उसके साथी किसी को आने नहीं देते थे।
बलराम जी ने श्रीकृष्ण के साथ उस वन में प्रवेश किया और पेड़ों को हिलाकर फल गिराए। इससे क्रोधित होकर धेनुकासुर बलराम जी पर झपटा, लेकिन बलराम जी ने उसे पैरों से पकड़कर घुमा दिया और एक पेड़ पर पटक कर उसका अंत कर दिया।
यह कथा बताती है कि जब हम अपने अंदर के अहंकार, अज्ञान और भय को त्यागकर ईश्वरीय बल को स्वीकार करते हैं, तो जीवन में सभी बाधाएं दूर होती हैं।
